Disability and Development (DDC) is a non-political, non-profitable, non-government voluntary and Disabled Peoples Organization (DPO) working in Panchagar district of Bangladesh. The organization was established on 1st July 2004 with a group of local youth with disabilities. The organization being started involving local women leaders and women with disabilities with the support from own initiatives. According to the bylaws of the organization there are 21 members in its General Committee and 07 members are in the Executive Committee. The organizational activities are implemented by the staff and volunteers following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director.

Through the direct involvement of the men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote rights of persons with disabilities and improving their lives with supports from government and non-government organizations. Besides, the organization is striving for partnership with the mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs through ensuring active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities as well as providing capacity building and technical assistance.

The organization has its aim to make a barrier free social & family environment to change their overall socio-economic status & to ensure their basic rights & opportunities and human rights for participation in the mainstreams development.

Working area

Disability and Development (DDC) is working in Bangladesh in Panchagar district. It is working in all sub-districts (upazila) and unions of Panchagar
